Michael Haas, PhD<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Haas was for many years a recording producer with Decca and Sony. 1994\/5 he was appointed Vice President of Sony Classical in NY. He has won a number of Grammys, initiated and led Decca\u2019s recording series \u201cEntartete Musik\u201d. From 2002 \u2013 2010, he worked as Music Curator at Vienna\u2019s Jewish Museum. In 2013, Yale University Press published his book \u201cForbidden Music \u2013 the Jewish Composers Banned by the Nazis. From 2000 \u2013 2015 he was director at London University\u2019s Jewish Music Institute and in 2015\/16, he was a Research Associate at the University College London\u2019s School of Jewish and Hebrew Studies. As co-founder of the Exilarte Center, he published his new book \u201cMusic of Exile \u2013 The Untold Story of the Composers Who Fled Hitler\u201d (Yale University Press) in 2023.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
