Exilarte Center invited to the Austrian Parliament | May 5, 2021

On Wednesday, May 5, 2021, the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) will broadcast the special session of the two presidential conferences of the National Council and the Federal Council on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance Against Violence and Racism in memory of the victims of National Socialism as of 10:30 a.m. on ORF 2.

The Exilarte Center was asked to musically organize this event. Isabella Schwarz, Floris Willem and Nicolás Bernal-Montaña will interpret the Trio for Oboe, Violin and Viola, op. 94 by Hans Gál.

Due to his Jewish origins, the Austrian composer Hans Gál (1890-1987) was forced to flee to Great Britain in 1938. The Trio, op. 94 was composed in Edinburgh in 1941. Hans Gál’s estate is located in the archive of the Exilarte Center at the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
